I use a mixture of Words Their Way, Fountas & Pinnell's Word Study, and
Four Blocks Working With Words materials. My word study "program"
includes the regular use of a word wall, differentiated spelling test on
a bi-weekly basis, some small group guided word study lessons based on
developmental spelling levels, and some whole group word study lessons
to build word knowledge. I think there are benefits to each of the
programs I'm using and that each accomplishes a little something
different, yet the same. I'd be happy to share more info if anyone is
interested. If you'd rather email off-line my address is

Yes. Our system is using WTW at this time. This is our first year, and
the
realization of just how little our students really understand how words
work
has been eye-opening.

Has anyone worked with Developmental Word Study using Word Journeys by
Ganske or Words There Way as the
"spelling" part of literacy?

Are all our students exceeding at the highest level they can succeed at?
If, not, we have work to do.
