This is a great list for third graders! In fact, I have read of these
with my struggling reading students. I wanted to add the all popular Freckle
Juice to this list. I read it this year with my students and it lent
itself to some great character studies.

Here are some chapter book titles to use in groups or whole class

Stone Fox
Muggie Maggie by Beverly Cleary
Chalkbox Kid
Lily and Miss Liberty
Sarah, Plain and Tall

I apologize for not knowing the authors. My students have enjoyed
each of them and we have been able to integrate with the content areas.
Hope this helps,
