My name is Tiffanie Laforet and I am a student at Wayne State University. I am about to start my full time student teaching in September in a kindergarten classroom. I believe strongly in independent reading and I hope that my cooperating teacher does as well. What would be the most effective way of introducing this time to the students? Are there any follow up activities I should be doing with them? How should that time be organized?
