Hi, my name is Tiffany Heikkila and I am a student in the special education program at Wayne State University. I will be graduating in the spring of 2010! I am going to be student teaching in the fall in a second grade classroom. I want to know if there is anyone who can give me advice on what it takes to be an excellent student teacher. Also, in my pre-student teaching, I was assigned with a teacher who never let me take control. If this situation is to happen in my student teaching, how would I conference with the teacher about having more control in a way that would not come over as being rude or pushy?
