She has a very strong voice that you can really hear in the way she speaks with her students. Setting up a literacy program it may help her to read the sisters cafe and the daily 5 if her district doesn't have strict guidelines about in the way she presents material. I've taught 1st grade for 10+ years and wished I had read these books earlier in my path of first grade teaching. ________________________________________ From: [email protected] [[email protected]] On Behalf Of judy fiene [[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, May 05, 2011 1:57 PM To: Mosaic: A Reading Comprehension Strategies Email Group Subject: [MOSAIC] Advice needed Hello All- What would you recommend as a "must read" for a first-year teacher who will be teaching first grade for the first time? I'm looking for a professional development book. She purchased Harry Yong's book, but is looking for more help. Any ideas? Thanks!
