I will look up and send the bibliographic sources for several articles that
share examples re the letters.  They are different than reading logs...I
believe more authentic (more in the dialogue journals nature of writing as
authentic instructional conversations rather than "assignments"  - changes
everything.  I just got back from camping but will look up the cites for
everyone.
