Hello,

I decided to spend the day birding the Twin Cities metro area.

Lake Harriet: C. Loon and a few Red-breasted Mergansers

Lake Calhoun: Dozen Red-breasted Mergansers and a C. Loon

Lake Nokomis: 1 Red-necked Grebe and 2 C. Loons

Coon Rapids Dam: nothing - water is moving far too fast

Wood Lake: The usual suspects plus 5 Hermit Thrushes and a Brown Creeper

Old Cedar Avenue: Lots of Scaup and Coot out from the deck.

Bass Ponds: The usuals plus a Winter Wren, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker,
Fox Sparrows, and a Phoebe in the parking lot.

180th Street Marsh area: not much - missed the Shrikes even though I
was on the lookout for them - oh well, have to try again

4 FOYs (RN Grebe, Wren, H. Thush, YB Sapsucker)

Pied-billed Grebes at all four lakes and lots and lots of Song
Sparrows everywhere

No Kinglets or YR Warblers today
