There is a first spring male SUMMER TANAGER coming to a feeder northeast
of Aitkin. From the junction of hwys 169 & 210 north of Aitkin, go east
on hwy 210 for just over 3 miles to township 78 (Gun Lake Road). Follow
township 78 for about 2.2 miles to the home of Dave and Marilyn Ruud
(Gun Lake Sod). Their home is tannish colored home right at the bend of
the road on the north side. Their feeders are along the south side of
their house and can be viewed easily from the road. The tanager seems
to like coming to the feeder on a tree in the southeast corner of the
