Today while at Hawk Ridge, I found & pointed out a unique Dark-eyed Junco
feeding in the flock of other juncos. The first thing that came to mind was
seeing the "Oregon" Dark-eyed Juncos bouncing around in our plots in the
mountains throughout western Oregon (from this past spring/summer). The hood
is dark and contrastive through the entire backside of this bird. The patch
of feathers in front of the folded wings is brown, in addition to the richer
reddish-brown back. I remember seeing the creamy-orange flanks on juncos in
Oregon, as this individual shows. Comments/feedback on this bird are
welcomed!

We've had west winds the past two days, and tomorrow is expected to have
slightly stronger/gustier west winds all day long. Tomorrow should be a good
day at the ridge! I'm hoping to birdwatch at Wisconsin Point tomorrow
morning before work, and will keep you posted on my sightings. Also, my gull
photos to come too...

Good birdwatching,
