For a number of reasons I don't think regexp hostname are a good idea,
or even that useful, after all you can list out each and every hostname
with subjectAltName extension, or just use a wildcard.

Well we have this thing called a wiki and I believe anyone and everyone
is able to make an entry to it :)

Some people have come along and basically stuck questions up with a
little bit of information and there are others that later come along and
fill out a lot more information (such as with our vhost page)

No, it will display the hostname in the URL bar even if your common
name/subjectAltName contains a wildcard entry...
