there is also the economic model that ISPs might be able to
feature/charge for protecting their customers from the bad things that
happen on the internet .... where there doesn't seem to be anybody to
pay ISP to have them protect the internet from bad things their
customers might do to the internet (and in fact ... the customers that
were planning on doing bad things to the internet might even be
willing to pay more for the privilege).

a couple days ago i ran across a quicky comment about a new book
called freakonmics ... and just now stopping by a local computer
bookstore ... it is the first book you see at the door. it purports to
be "a rogue economist explains the hidden side of everything"
