I agree that "note" might be too mild. (Are there broken browsers that 
confuse ".important" and "!important"?)

It is probably best to introduce a class called shaded, since we're 
stuck with the current wrapper for now and Nav4.x might break it if we 
introduced rules that apply to all tables.

OTOH, I believe that at some point we need to add another @imported 
style sheet anyway for styles that Nav 4.x must not see.

Pages shouldn't define colors at all. That's a job for the wrapper 
(trough persistent-style.css).
