I didn't think that's what I was saying. But if you regard "support" as a marketing tool, then you can conclude that (I claim) help is a marketing tool (though one might ask how "marketing tool" is defined here). > > And I think we'll really need it made clear if that's his view in his > Netscape duties or outside them, and, either way, if we can expect problems > from Netscape if we want to rewrite the help file. Who is "we"? And as for rewriting: I would be concerned if you mean a total rewrite. Netscape hasn't caused problems to this point, I trust---the fact that we are "seeding" the moz doc effort with the help files is a good thing, I hope. We've tried to promote open-source doc efforts at Mozilla in other ways, such as starting the Mozilla Documentation Project a few years ago (the effort didn't go far...and the pages were unceremoniously removed [without my knowledge] from the Moz site not too long ago). > > > (And before anyone follows this up with 'Mozilla is not Netscape': > > http://mozpink.blogspot.com/2002_06_02_mozpink_archive.html#77417810 > > "When mozilla engineers are afraid to review simple patches because their > manager will yell at them, shouldn't we just give up and go home?
