Adam Lock's ActiveX plug-in: Why EMBED, not OBJECT?

Hello.

Why does the plug-in use a non-standard HTML tag EMBED, and not a
standard HTML tag like OBJECT? It would be best, if the syntax was the
same as the Microsoft's.
