Netscape invented the plugin specification when there was no such thing
as the OBJECT tag. Instead Netscape Navigator 3.x and 4.x used the EMBED
tag which is an HTML 3.2 standard tag but was deprecated by the OBJECT
tag in HTML 4.0.

Either can still be used but using EMBED ensures your content works with
the widest range of browsers. I would expect that the people
netscape.public.mozilla.plugins would know a lot more about the issues
surrounding using plugins in Mozilla. I haven't tried the ActiveX plugin
in Mozilla so I don't know if it even works there.
