The extra zip files were what I needed. They don't appear to be mentioned on the ActiveX control page (http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/control.htm) and it hadn't occured to me to look on the main page (http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/mozilla.htm).

Thanks a lot,

There seems to be a general consensus that the ActiveX component no
longer works correctly with the latest versions of Mozilla. My
experience has been as following:

Works fine for me.

When I just register the mozctlx.dll and try to use the component
(either in VS6 or the IE example at
http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/mozctltest1.htm) the calling process
decides to take 100% process time and never finishes). Also the VS
component icon doesn't appear correctly implying that VB can't find all
the necessary files.

From Moz v1.4 onwards you need to install some extra GRE files (just chrome
I think) that you can download from Adam Lock's website:
http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/mozilla.htm. The Moz Control shows the
default component icon in Delphi, it doesn't have a custom one.

When I also register mozctl.dll any attempt to use the component causes
the process to crash immediately.

You should not register this dll, read the instructions on Adam Lock's
website.

Anyway, my question is: Up and till which build did the Active X
component still work?

I've used the control in Delphi from Moz v1.3 and v1.4. You should only use
the control from Moz v1.5 for testing purposes since it has not finished the
beta/release candidate stage. If you are learning how to use the control
choose a stable release.

Also, is there any way that I can have both a compatible version
available on my PC while I am still running a current version of
Mozilla? (I'm currently running 1.4 but will quite possible move to 1.5)

Yes, you can run more than one version of Mozilla on your PC, just ensure
you install them to different directories.

Hope this helps,
Dave.
