> Mozilla is an application for reading email!

Huh? Mozilla is first and foremost a web browser. After that, it's a
platform for creating applications powered by JavaScript, XUL and the
HTML rendering engine (Gecko). On top of this platform, some apps have
been built; IRC, Mail & News, an editor etc. Saying that Mozilla is an
application for reading email is very misleading and misinformed.

There are some cross dependencies (the editor widget is also needed
by Mail & News and the browser for instance), the apps built on the
Mozilla platform end up being very small. The platfrom + browser
itself, however, adds up to about 3 or-so megs, which is not too bad.

Comparing "the platform" and the Mail News component with something
like Eudora or Pine is of no use since they are not the same thing.
You could equally well compare Mozilla & Mail News with Eudora plus
a number of random DLL's from Windows..
