Um, four, maybe five, years tops. And there's never been a standard. Even the de facto standard of Netscape plugins is implemented differently in the various browsers; some Netscape plugins don't work correctly in IE and Opera. Now, as for them not working in Mozilla, aren't there bugs filed on that?
