I doubt it, and I doubt they could if they wanted to. It's too generic.

(If Microsoft had been able to trademark "COM", don't you think they'd
have sued over dilution by now? AOL could probably trademark something
like "Netscape XPCOM" or similar, but not just "XPCOM".)
