Hello. I've been using 20010316 but have finally got a new nightly,
2001031904, both on win2k. Starting sometime last week I lost the
ability to subscribe to new newsgroups--the Ok button on the subscribe
dialog stopped working, nothing would happen. I reported this bug but
haven't heard anything since.
I also now see that none of my newsgroup servers appear to have anything
in them. That is, there is no "open this server" icon, and the
subscribe dialog doesn't show me as having any subscriptions.
So, using today's 'nightly,' I deleted a newsgroup server (account),
recreated it, and tried to use the subscribe dialog. Clicking on a
newsgroup does not produce a "check" yet the Ok button worked in the
sense that the dialog was dismissed and now I see newsgroups under this
newly created server, and can click the triange to open the server. I
see my newsgroups, and there is clearly some conversation happening as
the newsgroup name goes bold and the number of articles changes. So I
click the newsgroup to bring down some articles. It looks like it is
working but nothing really happens--the articles never arrive and we
have constant hourglass. I can use the controls on the window to stop
the process or to open navigator windows, though, so mozilla isn't dead.
