There is one great feature in the Mozilla newsreader that has me hooked:
when I move the mouse over the subject list panel or message panel, the
mouse wheel scrolls the corresponding page without me having to click on
the panel. It may not sound like much but it makes dealing with a high
traffic newsgroup a heck of a lot easier, especially if you are someone
who like to skip lots of stuff. I like it so much I've switched to Moz
for news reading and general browsing.
PS: I have a 450 Mhz Pentium III with 128 Mb RAM, which is enough for
Moz to run very snappily. I've also tried Moz on a sub 200 Mhz Pentium
II (also with 128 Mb). On the less powerful machine, it is still
reasonably fast but there are a few areas where you do notice a slight
lack of reaction. For example, clicking on the 'close' button on a
JavaScript alert window has a slightly "sticky" feel to it. If you're
picky about your UI reaction times, this is a problem. However, the Moz
team have made amazing progress in this area.
