Microsoft wasn't in the hardware biz then. Maybe you mean IBM, but since 
IBM couldn't keep any sort of control over the clones, I don't think the 
threat would have carried any weight.

Yeah, but not being able to eject a floppy when the computer is off 
*really* sucks.

That's true of *any* operating system. "If you know how to use it, it's 
easy to use!"
