AOL just RENEWED their deal in exchange for placement on the WinXP desktop. MS
wasn't going to put them there anymore for WinXP, and so AOL "leaked" that
document about how to stop MS with Gecko powered software, and MS buckled. AOL
is one of the few companies that have a stick big enough to hit MS with.
