connecting to none standard ports for webpages

I remember something being mentioned about this a while ago. 'fraid a quick 
search on google didn't bring up anything useful so i'll try here.

>From what i recall mozilla -for security reasons- does not allow urls like: 
http://www.whatever.com:1050. But there was a pref you could add to user.js 
to re-enable this.

Anyone?
