First, JTK mentions "System Resources", and in the sense of the words on
Windows, is irrelavant. System Resources are two 64k heaps of RAM on
WIn 9x, and an application taking resources, even a lot, does nothing to
affect performance.
As for hogs of programs, anyone use ICQ? I have TWO people on my
contact list, save no incoming or outgoing histories, and right now,
while sitting in the background idle, ICQ has taken 14 megs of RAM.
Mozilla preloading it's entire damned program into RAM, to the point it
will open faster than IE on my system, takes 18 megs. That is bloat,
it's a freaking instant messanger. AIM takes 3 megs to do the same
thing as ICQ.
