Certainly I do this, and it does cause me to really hate long startup times.
Its one of the reasons I can not ever see me switching from mutt to
a GUI mail client.  It just so much faster to start mutt and check my mail
than it is to start mozilla and check my mail.

I realize that people did not design mozilla to be used in this
manner, but that is how I want to use it.  If it gets annoying enough I
might change my habits, but I dont really want to.
