Try keying off the beginning of the permissions granted:

Redistribution and use in source and binary forms, with or without
modification, are permitted provided that the following conditions are
met

This language seems to be pretty consistent across all the different BSD
variants, including the original BSD license, the modified version, the
Apache license, etc. See for example:

http://www.opensource.org/licenses/bsd-license.html
http://www.xfree86.org/3.3.6/COPYRIGHT2.html#6
http://www.apache.org/LICENSE-1.1

Note that for the most thorough analysis you'd need to distinguish
between original and modified BSD, and between BSD and Apache license,
because some BSD variants are considered to be GPL-incompatible by the
FSF. But for summary statistics checking for the above text should work
fine.
