You won't need to, ofcourse. All mailprograms will open that in the 
system's default browser.

That's exactly what happens anyway. Whether you use Netscape or let's 
say a compo of K-Meleon and Eudora.

You ARE using different applications. Netscape Navigator, Netscape Mail.
