Cygnus Cygwin will run on WIndows 98 as well as Win2K. However, if you
want something a bit smaller, download and install a Java developer's
kit (JDK) from Sun at http://java.sun.com. Jar is the Java Archiver, and
is included with the JDK.

I'm not sure if all versions are fully compatible, though. I can read
Mozilla jar files using the j2sdk1.4.0 version of jar, but if I create
any using that version, then the default version on my Linux system
blows up. The default version seems to be 'kaffe' on this system, so
maybe it's just not up to the same level as the Sun versions.
