I think this is one argument against having the browser and the 
messaging app in the same process. If the apps were separate, you could 
upgrade them separately on their own merits.

The plug-ins are broken on *your* setup--not on the Mac in general.

This certainly is a problem. Luckily, the situation (at least relative 
to IE) is better on OS X.
