I am using two version of the nightlies in two folders. mozillaold and mozillanew. I do this because I have an older build wich I know works, and I download a nightly very often. When I know the new one is good, I remove the old one. So when I want to check out a new nightly, I just rename mozillanew to mozillaold en the other way arround so I don't have to change the desktop icons. After I have done this, I run regclean(from MS) to check for errors. Both installs are just copied from the zip file and work emediatly. If I'm not misstaken there is actualy an installer exe file of every build if you like that better! This might not be the ideal way because both installs read from the same userprofile, this is why I backup that dir once in a while. I hope this helps.
