That exactly what I refering to about the PC operation.

If a Mac person has Multiple applications that can open the same file. 
File exchange throws up a widow with choices automatically you just
select from the list (if there is more than one application that can
handle it).  Type and Creator codes are used to determine the applications.


I am not trying to say one method is better or worse. Just rying to
explain the differences.
