Want to ask a really dumb question with respect to the comment above. (I
know being a dumb question hasn't stopped me before.<grin>)

Wouldn't moving a file's location as its being downloaded, Doesn't that
create the possibility of file corruption?

Wouldn't that be sort of like trying to take a Car's Transmission out
while your driving it down the road at 55 mph?

The cache file /folder in Communicator 4.X is easy enough to become
corrupted because its contantly changing each time you add something to
it by viewing HTM Mail / or a Web page. Having the download (update to
another Hard drive or another directory on the same Hard drive would
make it corrupt easier.

BTW: IN 4.7 you can got to Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Cache and
choose another location (possibly another hard drive even to write the
cache to.

If it's "fixed", don't "break it"!
