The way it works is this: Mozilla goes along happily doing nightlys and having milestones and everyone works on the Mozilla trunk. At some point, the Netscape people say "Hey, let's get Netscape 6.2 out the door!", and Netscape branches off from the next milestone (in the case of 6.2, Mozilla .9.4). They do work to fix any major issues, add things like Netscape IM, Webmail, etc, and they release Netscape 6.2. Then they go back to working on the main mozilla trunk again. It's weird, because most programs do something like: Version 1.0 -> Version 1.1 -> version 1.2, etc. The code from 1.1 is the same as 1.0, it's just been updated. Netscape 6.1 is not really the same kind of upgrade from 6.0. 6.0 was taken off the Mozilla trunk and released. Then like 6 months later, 6.1 was taken off the trunk and released. 6.0 itself wasn't really upgraded to 6.1, if you get what I'm saying.
