What I did is copy my backe up data *into* the *already* created dir from the profile manager so that the new, blanck, prefs files are overwritten by the old ones and all the other files (say mail folders, filters, addressbook, etc.) are copied, re-creating the pre-formatting situation. The only thing I broke up using this method was the signature path. What I was asking was wheter this method might have some drawbacks.
