Mozilla connected _directly_ to Google. If you're running Windows (which I assume) get a copy of the freeware program SpyBlocker. It not only blocks spyware but blocks webbugs and a lot of persistent ads. It constantly monitors port 80 and there is a log of the way your browser reacts to all sort of rubbish it finds. It monitors transmissions to AOL when the browser is not directed at AOL, and it can generate a pacfile for use with IE and Netscape (and Mozilla) which could prevent this kind of transmission.
