Phillip, you didn't read my post carefully enough and then you "snipped" too much text to make the remaining quote incomplete (although I am glad that you are finally "snipping" at all :) ). If you had read carefully, you would have noticed my quote of something Arafat has *frequently* said in (slightly) varying forms: Arafat: "as long as there is israeli occupation, the people will..." (terrorize, murder, throw (deadly) rocks, etc). > So all the countries of Europe, North America, Russsia, and others got > together and choose the current area Israel is located. Wrong! In fact most countries of this world (including USA) wouldn't let the Jews in. The Jews out of desperation decided themselves to go back to where they originally came from. That are was controlled by the British, who also didn't want to let the Jews in. The Jews sabotaged the British colony and fought for their right to a homeland - a land in which they too had live for thousands of years. They offered the (few) Palestinians to live together in peace. The Brits left because they had lost control (and they had no business there in the first place). The Brits got the territory from the Ottoman empire (after WW1?) - Clearly this land hadn't *belonged* to the Palestinians in any sense that is different from the Jew's claim to the land. Now what do you think happened the *day* after the Brits left? Remember, the Jews had made offers to find a way to coexist. The palestinian and *all* neighboring arab countries launched a full military attack on the israeli's. They have been talking of nothing else than "riving the Jews into the sea" ever since. The palestinians have only modified their language and agressive stance *after* they were (repeatedly) defeated and *forced* to back down - never voluntarily. > The people that > had been living there Thousands of years were more or less told "get the > "bleep" out of here and never come back". You are (completely) misinformed. See my reply above. > So Israel, Europe, and North America have brought this on themselves. All your (false) conclusions are based on your false understanding of historic events. I would be interested where you got you diss-information. > That's why people, of Islamic faith not living in the USA are suspicious > of the US. That is not the reason. The reason is more likely that they are afraid that their culture cannot survive when a better culture (human rights, democracy, freedom of speech - all rooted in LAW) keeps flaunting it's benefits. > They figure if people of their faith can get screwed once, > they figure they will get it again and againand again and again. I wonder who is getting screwed by people with you lack of knowledge and misinterpretation of facts. Answer: The Jews (for the record: I am *not* jewish). > I have no fault with Jewish people, I have no fault with Islamic people, > in fact I have no fault with any religion. Then maybe you need to start differentiating a bit better. All cultures have *some fault*. > What I have fault with is people trying to atone for long, long past > sins, creating something , that in the long view ends up causing far > more problems than it will ever cure. No one is doing that. All the Jews wanted was to deal with the emergencies *at hand*. After WW-II it was the need to a save haven. After that is was surviving the vicious attacks of the arab world. Recently, it is responding to terrorist attacks. Throughout all of this, the Jews have to put up with lack of understanding and caring for the situations they must deal with every day. > I honestly believe that all the faiths in the world would have been far > better served and the world far more peaceful today, had modern Israel > never been created. Even the Jewish people would have been better served. The creation of Israel was inevitable given the conditions and circumstances of the time. Plus, they had a right to live (alongside the plestinian) in the land that they have *always* lived in. Just because the palestinians, arabs and misinformed others don't want the Jews to have a home, doesn't mean that the Jews have to submit to this cruel and inhumane treatment. > Pardon my misspellings. I never was good at spelling and grammar. Mozilla now has a spellchecker - no more excuses. ;) http://spellchecker.mozdev.org/ -- Regards, Peter Lairo
