You're about to see a number of messages from me over the course of the
evening.
I wanted to keep the Mozilla community informed about what we're
thinking about working on next at Netscape. I'd be interested in
knowing about what everyone thinks and if there are other things that
you think are important that are missing. As you'll see below, some of
the things we're working on are pretty broad topics, so I'm going to
post individual messages, hoping that we'll start a thread with ideas
for what should be worked on in those areas. Later tonight, I'll post a
message that summarizes some of the feedback we've been getting from the
Netscape 6 release.
A few weeks ago, the mail team at Netscape got together and brainstormed
about things we'd like to work on next. None of this is final, but it's
what we're currently thinking about.
Very broad concepts for top priority items:
Performance(a few threads have already been started about various
performance work and plans going on)
Stability
Three Pane Window improvements and useability
Compose Window improvements and useability
Search
Filters
More detailed:
Features:
LDAP
Offline Mail
Return Receipts
Feature Enhancements:
Search Messages improvements
Multiple Accounts improvements
Filtering improvements
Usability
Import/Migration tool improvements
Mail threading improvements
And of course, fixing bugs in the broad concept areas listed above.
And, just to mention one more time, nothing here is final, but just
things we are thinking about. So, please, reply to the newsgroup with
any opinions or ideas.
