Agreed. There are just cases were you want just one filter to be
applied or several and this would maybe help performance. It becomes a
bit of a mute point with 6) though.

Here I agree 100%. I have receive all signups at Counte.com, .de, and
other statistics services we are running and I already have them moved
in the right folder, but I would also like them to be marked read.
Because I do not _need_ to look at them at once.
