That would surely be cool, but if that is not possible, a modal dialog
would still be better than a tiny progress bar in the status bar, if a
download takes longer than, say 5 seconds. The progress bar is just too
easy to overlook. The most important inof should be in the middle, and
at the time of a long download, it's the progress what's most important.
(Unlike the browser, which can display pages progressly, which then
serves as "progress meter".)
