Does this work for you with a more recent build?
Just curious, how old is your profile? I remember us having problems
with old profiles not matching up with the current default value for the
"mail.default_sendlater_uri"
currently, in mailnews.js, the value for that pref is
"mailbox://nobody@Local Folders/Unsent Messages"
Start a bug using http://bugzilla.mozilla.org and attach your prefs.js file.
