I just want to endorse what Dan has said about the 'one other
LDAP-related feature' that has still not landed in the tree.
This is the #78933 patch to add LDAP and MAPI support to the
Address Book. As well as builds been available at
<http://komodo.mozilla.org/plannings/branches.cgi/>
We have also made available builds at:
<http://abzilla.mozdev.org>
There are mozilla-78933 builds available for Linux, Windows
and the Mac built against the head as recently as the 22nd June.
We have also made available the 0.9.1 mozilla milestone
patched with #78933, #83023 and #83103 fixes. This brings
together most of our new proposed functionality apart from
#83091 and #83100.
We would encourage anyone who has time to download and test
these features and provide any feedback.
There is huge disappointment on this end that the #78933 did
not make the 0.9.2 cut. Our earlier #69480 patch had demonstrated
our ability to not break the build and not to introduce regressions.
We feel that there was no real conviction to QA this patch despite
the fact that we had made it available as early as the 20th April.
The review process has been extremely valuable and we appreciate
the efforts of Dan, Candice and Srilatha. The difficulty now is
that instead of the small group here concentrating on adding
new functionality, we now have to maintain the patch and meanwhile
everything else gets backed up. In that scenario this group
will get pulled to do other non-mozilla work.
We still await a committment to put the resources to QA this patch
to ensure that it does get landed before the 0.9.3 milestone.
We hope to hear from the people who make that decision soon.
