When Mozilla access the newsserver you get a username dialog. In this dialog
there's a "Save this login information" checkbox. Check that box and Mozilla
remembers the username. You can check which usernames/password you have
under Edit -> Prefs -> Privacy -> Web Passwords -> View Stored Passwords
