news account password?

I use

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.2) Gecko/20010628

In the news account setup there is no possibility to specify a 
usrname/password (which I need to access my news server)

When  I access the server,Mozilla at least asks for username and then 
for password and offers a checkbox to save both

but it eoesn't save them, next time I access the newsgroup I have to 
enter the auth data again


will this get fixed?
