That would be a catastrophy. Imagine accidentally missing the *tiny*
dropdown and hitting the main button and having *all* your messages
marked as read - and no way to undo that?
Personally, I use "Mark Thread as Read" the most.
Since there is a logical hierarchy (order) for this button is:
(1) message
(2) thread
(3) newsgroup
and taking (3) "newsgroup" as the primary function is too risky, and (2)
"thread" would mess up the order; we should probably leave it as it is.
