That is the perfect explanation. I agree completely.

And, for the replies below this one, I don't know anyone who could be 
called an "ordinary user" who actually reads newsgroups. The ephemeral 
"ordinary user" uses e-mail and a web browser, and that's it - and, 
quite a few only use web-mail.
