For what it's worth, here in the Eastern US, Wal-Mart has just launched 
Wal-mart Connect.  In a nutshell, it's a somewhat stripped down version 
of the CompuServe software, which of course, is basically AOL. My point 
is that the Wal-Mart connect mail is accessible via CompuServe's IMAP 
server, and Mozilla works just fine collecting and sending mail for 
those accounts. The IMAP server is: imap.cs.com

I don't have an AOL account, but don't understand why it would be any 
different. That doesn't mean it isn't though.
