Okay, why don't you use it on Windows? Wouldn't it reduce dependence on 
proprietary Microsoft code?

[I'm being facetious here--I think it's a good thing to give the user 
something they're used to. In the same way, I think a spell checking 
component which is installed in the OS can also be used like the File 
Open dialog is.]
