Windows and Unix are not the only platforms. If the new spell-checker was ispell/aspell based, it would almost certainly mean porting the engine of those products to all three major platforms, at a very minimum. Hopefully, we could base it on Mozilla tech in such a way that it was totally XP - there's nothing particularly platform-specific about a spellchecker. Note also that not everyone who has Windows has Word. I certainly don't. Gerv
