I agree that it's really neat on the eyes, but also that black/white is 
better contrast and the bars are enough for quoted text.  I'll try it 
out for a few days.

Offtopic:  Initially, the color was set to none, and the preferences 
panel showed an empty looking box.  But there's no way to get that empty 
looking box back after I've selected a color.  I think there's no 
difference, but might there be a special case where the "default" box 
and the black color choice are not the same?  If so, there should be a 
way to get the "default" box back.  If not, the box should be black by 
default.
